I don't think Darkroom Booth would have been that easy to get going on a different computer.

So, I downloaded the Breese software from their website to my laptop and was able to install it with out needing to validate it, just entered my serial number and I was up and running. Wed SeriouslyPhoto wrote:I like Breese's DSLR Remote Pro. It makes it almost impossible to do a slide show using green screen with DR. That means you would have to do some post-processing/editing if you want to provide these for the clients. DR only has an option for the original images (with the green background). Only issue I have with the software is when using green screen.īreeze stores both the original images (with the green background) and the ones combined with the image chosen as background in separate folders. Mon Used breeze and eventually switched to DR. Not sure what effort they're putting into further development but hopefully they'll be able to come up with features such as layers with the ability to show/hide elements which would eliminate the kind of clutter you mentioned. You can click on the check boxed of the elements, but it'd be nicer to group or lasso them to move in one shot. You also can't group the elements together, as far as I know, to move it at the same time.

But I share your frustrations with some of the functionality, such as: JeffBoyardee wrote:The editing screen in Darkroom shows all items at once and it can be confusing. Sun I started with and expect to be sticking to Darkroom Booth.

Lucky for you though, they both have trial versions. Darkroom is a LOT more simple (though not TOO simple like DSLR Booth, which just looks silly to me) and user friendly. Breeze is the way to go, out of these two programs, if you don't mind getting into the depths of the control and aren't intimidated in dealing with a bit of a geeky program. It's 295., and Breeze is 175., but it kind of evens out if you needed to get software from Breeze that can use all three cameras on an as needed basis. Darkroom will work with Nikon, Canon and Webcams, which is awesome.

The editing screen in Darkroom shows all items at once and it can be confusing. Darkroom booth allows you to specify, with more control than I would have thought, when text or graphical elements can be displayed or hidden but I need a touch more control. I also like the control that Breeze gives me in having different screens to show at specific points in the sequence (ready.jpg, taking.jpg, printing_confirmed.jpg, etc.). Some might say they don't hear it anyway, but my booth has a sound system built in so they actually CAN hear it. I REALLY want to use Darkroom but I think a deal breaker is that it does not have audio prompts, which Breeze does.

Are you able to transfer your registration over easily to another copy on a different computer so you don't have any down time? Fri I've been using Breeze for a year but recently considered switching to Darkroom. I'd suggest that before you buy Darkroom Booth please inquire into what is needed to be done if you have to resort to a backup computer on a job. This was a BIG plus in Breese's favor for me. This meant my cloned back up hard drive wouldn't even work. After my first photobooth build I had a computer get a boot error on a job and wouldn't boot up. Darkroom Booth is touted as being easier but I hear complaints about it as well. Here's the link: I'm sticking with Breese since I've already got past the learning curve.

I'm sure this upgrade is because of Darkroom Booth. The new 3.0 version has a new Print Layout Editor.
